Case Study: Fujitsu, The Lantern

January 05, 2023

Last year we were approached by Fujitsu to make 14 Hembury chairs for their new, sustainable Headquarters in The Lantern near Euston Station.

The Lantern, which opened its doors at the beginning of September 2022, is a new ‘smart building that champions sustainability and human efficiency’. So it is no surprise that we are thrilled to see our Hembury chair find a home in this intelligently designed space.

Housing offices, retail and residential accommodation, The Lantern creates a hub of wellbeing using natural materials with a built in sustainable structure - so we couldn't think of a better space to see the Hembury in.

And the Hembury is perfect for any office or workspace. It has been designed not only to showcase the beauty of wool, but with comfort and style in mind. It is the perfect seat from which to share motivating ideas and inspiring stories - whilst telling its own inspirational story.

Be it a chair to work from home at or a corporate headquarters, the Hembury chair provides a place for us to get creative. For the Fujitsu Headquarters the Hembury with natural Oiled Ash legs sit at ease amongst the bright space where natural wood and simple design celebrate the organic materials within the space.

Solidwool Hembury Chair at a festive table setting

A Festive Table

December 08, 2022

We are arriving at the time of year where our kitchen and dining room table become the most important piece of furniture in our home. Around the table is where our festive celebrations take place, and be it a small gathering or big table full of friends, there is always joy involved and we can’t wait to decorate it.

With every table comes a chair, and the Hembury chair not only offers a stylish design but all the inspiration we could need for the season's festivities. Christmas is a time when textures, patterns and natural materials can be used in entirely different and creative ways, and it is with the story of Solidwool we find endless inspiration. The Hembury is a chair that not only makes a statement, but creates discussion and showcases sustainable British design at its best.

The use of wool in winter creates warmth and texture, with the addition of earthy wood tones creating a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Here, the Hembury has been styled using natural materials and foraged decor. Rustic wood, linen and foraged greenery make for a perfect organic and laid back setting against the stippled textural shell of the Herdwick fleece in the Hembury chair. With the addition of natural beeswax candles for warmth and ambience, a cosy and festive atmosphere is created.

The Hembury is a chair with an identity, and an unbreakable bond to nature - tied to the land from which it comes. It reveals creativity is at the heart of both sustainability and Solidwool, allowing our imagination to flourish. With this unique, beautiful material we can’t think of a better chair to celebrate from this Christmas.
